Pocahontas died in England on March 21, 1617. This event at Henricus Historical Park will demonstrate the friendship of the colonists and Powhatan Indians during the winter preceding her death. There will be lectures and presentations focused upon Pocahontas’ life as a Virginia Indian and English woman. Guests will visit Mount Malady, the recreated first English hospital and interpreters will portray a physician, surgeon and apothecary as they demonstrate What killed Pocahontas? by exploring English medical treatment of that period. Other presentations in the 17th century church will review The English Pocahontas and what her life was like from her capture to her death in England.  Powhatan interpreters will demonstrate how Pocahontas’ people may have treated her death.
