Battersea’s 250th Birthday Celebration

Battersea’s 250th Birthday Celebration

September 16, 2018
3:00pm - 5:30pm

Historic Battersea
1289 Upper Appomattox Street
Petersburg, VA 23803

Before there was a U. S. President, Battersea was standing. It has withstood the Revolutionary War Battle of Petersburg, the Great Fire of 1815, the 292 – day Civil War Siege of Petersburg and the tornado that ripped apart Old Towne 25 years ago.  Come with family and friends to celebrate 250 years on this beautiful property of 35 acres with rolling lawn and big shade trees.  There will be tours of the very historic 5-part Palladian house, 18th century crafts, including people weaving and making goat’s milk products, food, beer &  wine vendors, the 392nd Army Band Brass Quintet, the Bowl’d Sojer Band playing period music, a photo booth AND, of course, birthday cake for everyone.  Bring your chairs or blanket, your kids and dogs, and just enjoy this festive community celebration.

Gates open at 3:00 PM; Commemorative Ceremony at 4:00 PM.
