January Friday for the Arts! Features Great New Displays of Art, Perhaps Eleven Music Venues
Petersburg’s January 2019 Friday for the Arts! will bring us music, art, fun activities, food, new beers, and abundant good spirits. There will be music in perhaps eleven performing arts venues, and great exhibits at the Petersburg Area Art League, and at the Old Towne Studio 7. A Family Fun Night and a Youth Open Mic Night will both be staged at Old Towne Studio 7.
The Art League will open two new shows, work by Jared Barr in the Main Gallery, and by the Petersburg Area Mental Health Arts Collective in the Upstairs Members Gallery. Old Towne Studio 7 will feature a new exhibit of work by artist-in-residence Lisa Mistry. A retrospective exhibit of work by Ken Graves and Joe Miller , as well as books by Dr. John Lynn and Stella McCormack, will be shown at Abigails.
Old Towne Studio 7 will present a Family Fun Night featuring crafts for the little ones, and make-take gift-worthy decorative papers ($).
Matt Via & The Dirty Runaways will be at Old Towne’s Rosa & Wayne from the Way Down South Band at Longstreet’s, Bobby Horne at Abigails, the Sinatra-style crooner Joe LaLuna at Maria’s, Steve Brooks & Shelly Bonet (keys & vocals) in the Martini Lounge at Wabi Sabi, and Fish Out of Water in the Music Room at Wabi.
