A Black History Month Commemoration

Very much a part of the wartime scene here in Prince George County, the men and boys who comprised the U.S.C.T regiments were accomplished soldiers whose story sometimes is eclipsed by other events of the American Civil War. Randolph (Randy) Watkins, retired Park Ranger of the Petersburg National Battlefield and noted historian on the War, offers perspective on the background and struggles faced by these troops and especially their contribution. The public is invited to this special event.
