Beacon Theatre

Beacon Theatre

The Beacon Theatre is the centerpiece in Hopewell’s downtown since its opening in 1928. It was designed by the same architect who designed the Byrd Theatre in Richmond and has both colonial revival and art deco details. Just a short walk from Hopewell’s downtown waterfront, the Beacon is on the National Register of Historic Places.

In addition to the performing arts space, the building houses wonderful event space for wedding receptions, smaller social events, meetings and conferences. The third floor Grand Ballroom features high ceilings and Brazilian cherry floors. The room can accommodate 175 people standing. The smaller room on the second floor can accommodate 100 people for a seated event, and there is a wonderful reception area on the first floor. There are 350 free parking spaces in a two-block radius of the Beacon.
